Fantastic Workout : I had never attempted pilates before so was a little apprehensive about finding the right dvd - this was brilliant. Each move is explained first, shot well so you can see how to do it, and Darcy explains how it should feel so you know when you are doing it right! You have plenty of time to do the workout, and the quick workout is perfect if you are in a hurry and dont have time to do the full dvd!! Would recommend this dvd to any novice, this is a perfect start, but I am now wanting a different dvd with perhaps more demanding exercises!! Also, I suffer from terrible back pain and have found pilates to help stretch my back and ease pain.

Really good workout! : As an ex dancer myself I was a little dubious about this DVD but reading the reviews here I decided to give it a try. I have to say it is brilliant. The exercises are clearly explained and easy to follow, and there is plenty of time to follow all instructions. The mini workout is great if you only have 20 mins to spare. Highly recommended.

Brilliant : I bought this as I do ballet and I wanted to achieve a body like Darcey's. The DVD is very straightforward and easy to follow, the moves are not hard and everything is explained in detail. I would recommend this because it is very calming and like a meditation, also if you are unable to do strenuous exercise it is useful. A worthwhile product to buy!!

Excellent for beginners. Highly recommended! : I was very pleased with the DVD. The instructions given by Darcey are clear and simple and all the moves are well shot allowing you to see exactly how you should be performing a particular exercise.

I suffer from a bad back which is a lot stronger and pain free since I have been doing this DVD. The full program is a lot more vigorous than you think but you will see results over time and feel as if you are progressing.

The mini programme is ideal if you can only spare a few minutes. Even doing the mini-programme you will see and feel the benefits.

You will also find that the moves relax you - the accompanying sound track also helps.

It's just a pity that there isn't a follow up as I am really pleased with this disk overall.

If you only get one beginners Pilates DVD get this one!

Darcey Bussell's Pilates for Life : Excellent! Before buying this DVD I tried someone else's Pilates DVD which didn't inspire me. Darcey Bussell's DVD has definitely got me exercising regularly. As suggested on this DVD beginners should do three one hour sessions a week. The warm up takes 15 minutes which should be included in each session as well as the warm down which takes 5 minutes. I do the Mini Programme which takes about 15 minutes plus two of the sections from the Main Programme which in total takes about 55 minutes. The exercises are clearly demonstrated and Darcey talks over the DVD, rather than talking whilst performing the exercises. Obviously, as with any exercise regime, you should go only as far as your body will comfortably let you as in time you will be able to stretch further. After only three weeks my body is toning up with a slightly flatter stomach and toned thighs. My reasons for doing Pilates are to stretch the whole of my body, hopefully to get rid of the minor aches and pains I experience from the tight muscles in my neck, shoulders and back. I also wanted to tone my body and get rid of the flab! I would highly recommend this DVD.
